THERE'S A GUY ON THE CORNER

After twenty-four years of rock'n'roll
I thought I'd got to know the score
I've got a few tight fits
and'a plenty of kicks
but nothing like this before
I was drivin'down the street last Saturday night
on my way to pick up my girl
when I stopped at the lights
at the corner of the street
What I saw made my hair curl

There's a guy on the corner
looks just like me
He's got the same kind of hair style
He's got my blue suede shoes
and it aint no news
that he's trying to steal my girl

I drove down town got a belly full of wine
and I didn't feel half as mad
Walking back home didn't feel so good
maybe the wine was bad
So I waited outside 'fore I opened the door
breathing the cold night air
and my brain started workin'
so I focused my eyes
What I saw made me stop and stare

There's a guy on the corner
looks just like me
He's got the same kind of hair style
He's got my blue suede shoes
and it aint no news
that he's trying to steal my girl

He'd got the same leather jacket
and the tight blue jeans
and a similar tattoo on his hand
He had a cigarette hangin from the corner
of his mouth
and he even smoked the same brand
I should have turned nasty or felt real bad
as he was layin' on the Jimmy D.
but he looked so good so I didn't do nothing
but I hope he aint as good as me

There's a guy on the corner
looks just like me
He's got the same kind of hair style
He's got my blue suede shoes
and it aint no news
that he's trying to steal my girl
